I am a retired 32-year resident of Lee’s Summit with great enthusiasm for the potential growth and development of Lee’s Summit.

It is a wonderful place to live, raise a family, educate your children and enjoy the many activities, parks and recreation, fine dining and entertainment available. The exceptional schools are probably the main attraction that draws new residents along with excellent medical facilities, churches and a vast variety of businesses.

I have been an active volunteer for charitable causes and civic projects most of my life and have been following city operations, public hearings and city advisory committees. I am a Graduate of the Lee’s Summit Leadership Academy that involved reviewing all the operations of City government, the Police Dept. and Fire Dept. I have served on 2 occasions involving the Federal Block Grant Program and made suggestions at public hearings that have actually been accepted and put in place. The building of a bridge, a bonding of the R7 School District and business community to provide students on the job training, part time jobs, scholarships and full- time jobs upon graduation from high school or college Solar installation on City owned buildings, and information provided related to a program for better pay for Police and Firefighters.

I have always held the belief that everyone when able and capable to serve, should make an effort to serve his or her community at some point in their life if time and circumstances permitted. I have served my local community as an elected member of the Board of Directors and 8 committees, as a volunteer for Lee’s Summit Social Services, One good Meal, C.P.R Training by the Fire Dept., Red Cross training as a Disaster Assistant Technician, and a member of lions Club (President), Sertoma Club (V.P) and Rotary.

I am a Graduate of William Jewell College, A.B., Degree (Bus. Ed.) American Savings and Loan (Graduate Diploma) and Rockhurst College (Diplomas in Supervisory Skills and Real Estate Appraising).

My family is large and multicultural with family members in 8 countries and on 4 continents. I have 2 daughters and a son and 13 Grandchildren. My immediate family is of European decent. My oldest daughter married a man from Lebanon. I have family ties to Lebanon, Egypt, Dominican Republic, Barbados, Columbia South America, Africa. They are supportive, congenial, friendly and cooperative group. Needless to say, there is no discrimination, racial bias or any inequity in my family.

My career was in Banking and Savings and Loan Operations- Finance and Real Estate. 25 years in management- the last 20 in Sr, Exec. Management including C.E.O. There is much more but no space left. I would appreciate your vote.

Yours truly – Robert L. Dye
