A memorial service celebrating National Police Memorial Week was held on Tuesday, May 17 in Raytown.

Chief Bob Kuehl, Raytown Mayor Michael McDonough and Jackson County Legislator Theresa Galvin

In attendance were, Jackson County District 6 Legislator Theresa Galvin, District 28 Missouri State Representative Jerome Barnes, Mayor Michael McDonough, Father Sean McCaffrey, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Color Guard, Ian Evans and Benny Kenny of the Ararat Shrine Pipes and Drums, and retired Chief Jim Lynch.

It was a very important remembrance of the 618 officers lost to on duty deaths in 2021 and 105 already this year, across the nation.
