On Wednesday, Jul. 27, leadership and supporters of Summit Homes and Drumm Center for Children celebrated the newest Raising Hope KC completion– a 4,636 square foot, seven-bedroom home on the Drumm Farm campus. A state licensed foster family will soon move in – free of charge – with instant access to all resources provided to those under the Drumm umbrella, including personalized counseling and educational interventions for all children living on campus.

In addition to the rent-free structure, complimentary utilities, and a community setting like no other in the Midwest – a playground, gymnasium, disc golf course, fishing pond, walking trails, and more–families living at Drumm Farm are afforded the opportunity to forget about typical everyday headaches in order to more easily focus on raising kids in a loving environment.

“We believe that the unique combination of our sprawling campus, dedicated staff, and wrap-around support systems make Drumm Farm an ideal setting for kids to learn, heal, play and grow,” said Drumm Farm Executive Director, Brad Smith. “I could not be more excited to invite another family into our growing foster village community, and could not be more thankful for this incredible donation from our friends at Summit Homes.”

The ceremony took place on the Drumm Farm campus at 3210 S Lee’s Summit Road, Independence, MO 64055. A brief program was followed by an open house.

Drumm Farm Center For Children is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization providing nurturing and inclusive services and environments that inspire and yield the lifelong success of children, young adults, and families.
