HCA Midwest Health — Kansas City’s largest healthcare provider with seven hospitals and dozens of outpatient centers, clinics, physician practices, surgery centers and an array of other facilities and services to meet area residents’ healthcare needs across the region — today announced that Lee’s Summit Medical Center has been recognized as a “Healthgrades America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Gastrointestinal Surgery” with a 2023 Healthgrades Specialty Excellence Award™ from Healthgrades, the leading marketplace connecting doctors and patients.

Healthgrades Specialty Excellence Awards™ recognize the top 10% of hospitals across the country in 17 specialty care areas. Among those in the top 10%, the very best hospitals are named among the top 100 in the country. Lee’s Summit Medical Center received the following Healthgrades award:

Healthgrades evaluated patient mortality and complication rates for 31 of the most common conditions and procedures at nearly 4,500 hospitals across the country to identify the top-performing hospitals for specialty care. This year’s analysis revealed significant variation in patient outcomes between hospitals with a 2023 Healthgrades Specialty Excellence Award and hospitals that did not receive the award.
