It’s time once again for Raytown’s Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2 at Pocket Park located at 9921 E 63rd Street in Raytown, Downtown Raytown at the intersection of 63rd street and Raytown Road.

For more than a decade, the tree lighting ceremony has become an annual tradition in Raytown. Many downtown businesses, area schools and more will participate to kick off the holiday season.

Holiday music will be provided by Raytown Community Band, Raytown South High School Cardinal Chorale, Raytown High School Camerata and St. Regis Academy. Other activities include an appearance by Santa who will flip the switch.

Raytown Water will provide hayrides, a winter wonderland with cookies and cider. Santa will distribute gifts to the first 150 children.

Non-perishable food donations will be accepted for REAP during the event at Bella B’s restaurant, 6225 Blue Ridge Blvd.

The tree lighting ceremony is presented by the Raytown Main Street Association, Raytown Parks & Recreation and the City of Raytown.
