The Raytown High School cheerleaders from the class of 1962 got together for lunch recently at Roots Seasonal Cuisine Restaurant in Lee’s Summit. They reminisced about cheerleading camp in Norman, Oklahoma and all the good times they had cheering their teams onto victory 61 years ago.

The Raytown High School varsity cheerleaders consisted of: Gayle (Arbuckle) Burgess of Greenwood, MO; Janice Messmer Kennedy of Bella Vista, AR; Sharon (Stephenson) Butts of Shawnee Mission, KS; Vicki (Wise) Timberlake of Lee’s Summit, MO; Carol (Linhardt) Sharpe of Houston, TX (not pictured); and Dr. Sharon Pope (deceased Jan. 09, 2012).
