February 3, 2024

Guests at Coldwater’s Winterfest 2024 will “Go For the Gold” on Feb. 24 from 5:30 to 9:30 pm at the Hilton Garden Inn in Independence. The fundraiser’s theme this year is “Coldwater Olympics” in honor of the Summer Olympics in Paris.

This annual event raises funds to support Coldwater’s programs, including the food pantry, clothes closet, weekend food packs for LSR7 students, and summer lunches and BBQs for low-income Lee’s Summit neighborhoods.

As part of the Winterfest 2024 activities, guests can compete in several Coldwater-inspired “Olympic” competitions, such as who can bag the most groceries in a minute. The competitions will include both individual and team events. Those who impress the judges the most with their skills will win medals and prizes. Everyone who competes in the Coldwater Olympics will be entered into a drawing for a grand prize.

Guests can dress like a champion in casual sportswear or choose gala attire. However, prizes will be awarded for the best-dressed competitors, including “Most Patriotic.”

The night also will include dinner, a program, an online silent auction, a raffle, and the ever-popular live Piccadilly auction. Guests will enjoy a traditional American barbecue dinner from Hereford House paired with desserts from around the world. The program will feature a look back at the past year at Coldwater as well as personal stories, such as one about a Lee’s Summit resident who carried the torch in a past Olympics.

The silent auction will open for registered guests the Wednesday prior to Winterfest. You must be registered to access the silent auction online. Guests can purchase the tokens for the Piccadilly auction when they register online prior to the event or when they arrive that night. Among the auction items are a Southwest Airlines gift card, Kenny Chesney concert tickets, a Ninja Woodfire outdoor oven, a hot air balloon ride, designer purses and a variety of themed gift baskets.

Tickets for the event are $75 per person or $750 for a table of 10. For an additional $10, guests can register to compete in the Coldwater Olympics. Registration is located at http://tinyurl.com/ColdwaterWinterfest2024.

Gold ($5,000), Silver ($2,500), and Bronze ($1,500) sponsorships and special Olympic-themed sponsorships are still available, along with $200 Table Sponsor opportunities. You can view details about each sponsorship on the online registration page.
