I have been blessed to be a part of the Lee’s Summit community for many years. I am excited to announce my candidacy as a voice for Lee’s Summit City Council District 2. I live, work, spend my dollars and donate my time right here in Lee’s Summit. Our community matters. I will work to ensure Lee’s Summit is THE place to live, learn, grow and thrive, with intention. Safety, health and security are of utmost importance to the citizens of District 2 and throughout Lee’s Summit. I want to represent and serve as a channel of communication, better connecting the community to things impacting their daily lives.

I hail from a family of veterans, police officers and civil servants. I have education and training in Public Health Administration and Policy (MPH) and have worked in healthcare for over 30 years. I understand the challenges and opportunities when public policy meets private and impacts the health and welfare of our citizens. I will work to serve as a voice of the needs of our community, disseminate information and minimize the gap, accordingly.

I have been a public servant for many years. I have served in positions, professionally and personally, providing support and assistance to those navigating through various bureaucratic processes. I have served in positions connecting regulation and policy to impacted citizens ranging from healthcare mandates, insurance selection, housing and education requirements, Medicare plan choice, volunteer committees and HOA covenant review. I have served as mentor for the Summit Technical Academy (STA) Project Management International Studies Program. Additionally, I have held volunteer and leadership roles in local PTAs, HOAs, strategic planning committees and local chapters of national organizations such as the Pulmonary Hypertension Association. I directed a multiple-site Customer Care department charged with outbound community education and inbound customer account requests. Additionally, I have managed projects charged with the implementation of a national, enterprise-wide rollout of a Veteran’s Affairs/Dept of Defense electronic health record collaboration effort.

I want to serve as the voice for the community. Representation entails availability, listening, empathy and serving as a conduit to the concerns and requests of the citizens. It means reaching out, pushing opportunities and information beyond the committee and council chambers. It means providing a platform for all citizens, bringing those thought to be disenfranchised front and center.

My son attended LSR7 schools, graduated from Lee’s Summit West in 2023. He now attends Mizzou, my alma mater. My brothers, sister, nieces, nephews and countless neighbors and friends call Lee’s Summit home.

Tomorrow’s success necessitates that we prepare and lay the foundation today. Please support me in continuing to move our community forward ensuring an ideal place to live, work and play!
