SCA Kindergarteners, pictured with missionary Lettie Becker, proudly display one of the nearly 200 jackets they collected to send to orphan children in India

Summit Christian Academy Kindergarteners recently collected nearly 200 sweatshirt jackets as a service project, integrating with their Kindergarten Graduation program “Children Around the World”. Missionary Lettie Becker had recently shared with the students about the country of India, and the collected jackets were given to her to bring to India during her visit next month.

“When you are hot this summer, it will be cold and rainy in India,” Lettie shared with the Kindergarteners. “These jackets will get to them just in time to stay warm during their coolest season.”

Lettie’s mother, Darlene Large, is the founder of HOINA (Homes of the Indian Nation) Orphanage in India and currently resides there. Large specifically requested sweatshirts for the children as the nights get cool and it is difficult to obtain quality jackets locally.
