Baylie Andersen, a senior at Lee’s Summit West High School, received the 2018 DECA Emerging Leader Honor Award. The national award recognizes students studying marketing, finance, hospitality and management for being an academically prepared, community-oriented, professionally responsible, experienced leader through participation in DECA.

The award recipient must be a DECA member, a senior in high school and have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.2 or above. DECA chapter advisor at Lee’s Summit West is Susan Howard.

DECA is a career and technical student organization including more than 210,000 students who are interested in careers in marketing, entrepreneurship, finance, hospitality or management.
