The Kansas City Mavericks front office and coaching staff came back home after an 0-3 road trip to the state of Ohio without a goaltender. On Monday Feb. 12 Mavericks Coach John Scott-Dickson began the search for a couple of new goalies that could play that coming weekend. One who accepted the offer from the Mavericks was a man named Mavric. Mavric Parks took over Jersey #1 and has seen plenty of action in helping the Mavs during their playoff push.

Parksy as he is called by his new teammates is in his 3rd season playing pro hockey. Mavric has played in both the SPHL & ECHL in his time as a professional.

Mavericks head coach John Scott-Dickson likes how “Parks battles on pucks.” “Gives his team second chance opportunities on defense.” Parksy even pitched a shutout for the Mavericks in a recent win over Allen 1-0. It was the first shutout since Nov. 7, 2015 when then Mavs Goalie Parker Milner held a Tulsa scoreless.

Mavric’s favorite pro sports team is Toronto Blue Jays, due to them being the only MLB team in Canada. Parksy hails from Eganville, Ontario, Canada. Mavric’s mom and dad along with three siblings root him on from home.

Parksy’s favorite hockey memory so far was going to the Carolina Hurricanes training camp. Parks went there in 2011 straight out of Juniors. Mavric picked up the sport of hockey later in life than his teammates as he did not start playing organized hockey until 10 years old.

If not in pro hockey today Parksy would be ice fishing back home. On those long road trips Parksy enjoys watching Netflix. His favorite sports movie is “Miracle.” Following his playing days Mavric hopes to be remembered as a hard worker and a humble human being.

Parksy has not had a chance to get out and see much of KC since his arrival here. Parksy says “Weather so bad, just choose to focus on hockey.” Mavric is roommates with Fan Favorite Tyler Ellbrecht.

Check out the new #1 when Parks and the rest of the Mavericks hit home ice again on Sat., March 17 to host the Tulsa Oilers. The Mavs/Oilers game will face off at 7:05 p.m.
