This month, the Lee’s Summit R-7 School District is pleased to announce Ms. Jennifer Maynard as the Learning for Life award winner. Ms. Maynard is a Behavior Interventionist at Underwood Elementary.

The Learning for Life Award is presented to one employee each month and rotates between elementary certified, secondary certified and support staff. Winners are nominated by co-workers and selected by a team of employees.

In nomination forms, other employees had this to say about Jennifer:

“Jennifer is amazing at her job! She is hard-working, responsible, dependable, calm and compassionate. Her smile and positive attitude are contagious.”

“Many of our students on success plans meet with Jenn daily and it makes a huge impact! She works with them on missing skills and does it so positively. I’ve seen our students have major growth in character and behavior because of Jenn.”

“She processes with students to help them take ownership and accountability. She is a master at providing grace, and works patiently with every single student, helping them to learn trust and respect.”

“Jenn often comes to the rescue and helps me problem solve situations with my students, always in their best interest. She knows the students well and offers valuable insight.”

“Jenn inspires me to look out for the students first, and to keep working until a problem is solved.”

Maynard accepted the award at Underwood Elementary during their staff meeting. She says, “I am truly humbled and grateful. This award will always hold a special place in my heart and I will never forget it. Our students are my why and this Underwood Elementary and LS R-7 team is my why as well as my family.”
