Developing Potential serves individuals having developmental disabilities in the community through quality on-site and off-site day services and their DPI Employment Connections program, giving individuals a meaningful day in many ways. The programs help individuals connect with their community, provide meaningful volunteer service, develop relationships, build skills, access health and wellness services, and become a part of the workforce.

On November 10, Developing Potential will be hosting their “Building Lives” Community Recognition Gala. This event will feature awards for community members, silent and live auctions, and recognition of individuals who have reached important milestones this year.

Proceeds from the gala will go toward their efforts to expand services in order to meet the growing wait list for services. Currently, Developing Potential has over 70 individuals on their waiting list, representing the great need for supports in the community. Not having supports translates into isolation, lack of opportunities to be a part of their communities, and fewer opportunities for activities that promote health and wellness.

Please consider being a part of the efforts to build a community center style building in the community to better meet the needs of the most vulnerable citizens. DPI is respectfully requesting donations of auction items including gift cards, gift baskets, sporting good items, jewelry, passes for events and activities in the community, and more. To make a donation or for more information visit DevelopingPotential.org or call 816-525-6000.
