Neal Goff may wear the #13 jersey but his appearance here in Kansas City this season has been anything but unlucky. Goff, a defenseman, is enjoying his rookie season with the Mavericks who got off to a franchise best start after the team’s first 12 games.

Goffer as his new teammates call him did spend four games with Colorado and three more with San Antonio at the end of the 2017-18 season. Neal’s favorite pro sports team is the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings. This is primarily due to the Vikings being his hometown sports team.

The left handed Goff hails from Stillwater, Minnesota where his dad, two older sisters, his mom and a stepdad continue to root him on from home. Goffer’s favorite hockey memory so far occurred while at Western Michigan playing a game inside the historic Joe Louis Arena in Detroit. The game was played in Goff’s junior year the 2016-17 season the last year the famed arena was open.
On the ice Goffer is hard to miss coming in at 6’5” and 215 lbs. Goff first put on a pair of skates at age two. Goffer’s favorite website to visit every day is YouTube. If not in pro hockey today he feels he would be using his sales degree in the medical sales field. Goff’s favorite foods are steak, pizza and Chinese. Goffer’s favorite sports movie is the not well known “UFC-Warrior.”

Following his playing days Goff wishes to be remembered as an “unsung guy who came to work every day.” Check out Goffer and the rest of his teammates when they host the Allen Americans on Friday, Dec. 07. The fun begins inside the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena when the puck drops at 7:05 p.m.
