The Lee’s Summit All-High School Smart Program wishes to thank sponsors, students and the community for another successful “Freeze Out” campaign for charitable donations. This year in addition to clothing, especially coats and other winter apparel, they sought out donations of shoes to support the Shoes for Orphan Souls program. They also gathered food items for the Feed-a- Need pantries.

All totaled, at the end of a chilly four-hour evening on Friday, Dec. 7 the group collected three carloads of clothing donations as well as three large tables-worth of food.

The Smart organization provides alcohol-, tobacco- and drug-free activities that focus on character development for members, as well as the student body as a whole.
