The Kansas City Business Aviation Association recently presented a donation check to the St. Michael the Archangel (SMA) Catholic High School’s aviation program to go towards the purchase of a flight simulator.

Because of the critical shortage of pilots in the next ten years, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association has developed a curriculum to bring aviation to the high school level. Last year, SMA was the only Catholic high school in the country to have this program. This year there are 76 schools participating in the program. They have partnered with the Lee’s Summit Airport and other community supporters in this endeavor.
