Metropolitan Community College has released the Dean’s List for the Fall 2018 semester. More than 3,000 students — nearly 20 percent of the student body — were recognized for their academic achievement.

To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must earn a semester grade-point average of 3.5 or higher and be enrolled in at least six credit hours.

For the Fall 2018 semester, about 16,600 students took classes across the five MCC campuses and online. To see the entire Dean’s List, visit mcckc.edu.

A century of service: Metropolitan Community College is Kansas City’s oldest and largest public institution of higher education; 2018-19 marks their 104th academic year. Founded in 1915 as the Kansas City Polytechnic Institute, they changed their name to the Junior College of Kansas City in 1919, and became “Metropolitan” in 1964. The campuses are MCC-Blue River, MCC-Business & Technology, MCC-Longview, MCC-Maple Woods and MCC-Penn Valley — and a robust online program educate more than 30,000 students annually through credit and noncredit courses and business services.
