“Jackson County Parks + Rec was recently made aware of a situation involving Cave Spring Park and its possible use and affiliation with the production of an online news publication.

Parks officials immediately contacted the executive director of the Cave Spring Association and were informed that the publication is not produced at Cave Spring Park, but that meetings to discuss the publication have been held at the site after hours and on weekends.

Parks officials immediately requested that those meetings cease and the removal of the park’s name and address from the publication’s website and other reference materials related to the publication. At the time of this statement, all of those requests have been met.

Cave Spring Park is owned by Jackson County, but has been operated and managed by the non-profit Cave Spring Association since 1976. Located at 8701 E. Gregory Boulevard, Cave Spring Park serves as a recreational amenity to the community focusing on the history of the site and nature-based educational programs. Jackson County Parks + Rec is committed to ensuring it is utilized for that purpose only.”
