Government Employees Health Association (GEHA) has announced a multi-year deal with the Kansas City Chiefs. Mark Donovan, president of the Chiefs organization, and NFL MVP and new official brand partner Patrick Mahomes attended the July 19 announcement. Darren Taylor, GEHA president and CEO, introduced the two as they embark on this incredible journey together. The Kansas City area has been GEHA’s home for 82 years. They are honored to partner with the hometown team to fuel their organization’s local and national growth, enabling them to better serve their members.

“We are going to cooperate with them (GEHA), learn from their expertise and help elevate those through our brand exposure,” Donovan said. The Chiefs are eager to support community outreach, as “that is something that is really a core to what we are doing through our organization.”

Donovan also highlighted that there will be several community and joint programs between the two organizations. Two immediate effects that Chiefs fans will see are GEHA sponsorship of the brand-new Drum Deck at Arrowhead Stadium and a new digital program called The Franchise, for which GEHA will be the presenting partner. This stream gives Chiefs Kingdom members worldwide a chance to look behind the scenes at training camp, off days for the athletes and the business side of Arrowhead Stadium.

Like many collaborative plans, there can be disagreements. But the will to push through for both presidents, in the midst of striking a monumental partnership, will be the tale of the tape. “If you’ve got a partner that sees the true value in a partnership, if you’ve got cooperation from the top down through both organizations, you find ways to get through (roadblocks),” said Donovan.

The focus on health throughout the KC area is pertinent to the current MVP. Mahomes commented on the grit and grind mentality of the two presidents as they closed this deal. That is the reason why it was the “easiest transition” he could make. The determination and values shared between GEHA and Mahomes made this partnership come to fruition.

As the exclusive health plan, dental plan and vision plan partner of the Kansas City Chiefs, GEHA will collaborate with the team on initiatives that empower communities and individuals to be healthy and well. A few of these initiatives are a new Chiefs digital wellness program, military appreciation initiatives and an updated Chiefs Sports Lab at Arrowhead.

GEHA is a nationwide not-for-profit provider of medical and dental plans for active and retired federal employees. It stands as one of the largest providers of health and dental plans for federal employees and their families throughout the United States. GEHA is proud to empower more than 2 million federal employees and retired military (and their families) to be healthy and well through access to quality affordable healthcare. It was established in 1937 and now old employees nearly 1,400 people in the KC metro area. GEHA is located 310 NE Mulberry Street, Lee’s Summit, MO,
