On Thursday Summit Homes celebrated a groundbreaking for its newest community. Woodside Ridge will be a 112-acre community near NW Pryor and O’Brien. Woodside Ridge will feature a competition-size pool, expansive club house, playground, sports court, hammock garden and walking trails. Summit Homes is dedicating 44 acres to green space. There is also a two acre pond that will be incorporated into the development plan.

Home buyers can expect prices to range from $350,000 to more than $1 million. Summit will also offer care-free villas with maintenance provided and home sites open to outside builders, allowing buyers the flexibility to select a builder, site and floor plan that satisfies their unique style and needs.

Since it began in 2002, Summit Homes has built more than 600 homes in Lee’s Summit alone. Woodside Ridge will add 200 new homes. Chief Operating Officer Zalman Kohen said Summit Homes’ success is due in part to the city’s support.

“We have had a tremendous partnership with the City of Lee’s Summit,” Kohen said. “This our hometown, we’re really proud of it. We want to continue to help us grow this community so your support is immensely appreciated.”

Several Lee’s Summit Economic Development Council investors have been involved in partnering with Summit Homes for the new development including John Knox Village, Olsson, Spire and Newmark Grubb Zimmer.

“We are proud to see our network of investors working collaboratively on this project, with Summit Homes leading the way” said LSEDC President & CEO Rick McDowell. “Summit Homes’ dedication to creating new opportunities for families in Lee’s Summit is evident with each new project. We are eager to welcome the new families that will soon call Lee’s Summit home.”

The first phase of Woodside Ridge is expected to be complete in 2020.
