This past week the two Lee’s Summit Walmart stores surprised two first year teachers in Lee’s Summit with $500.00 gift cards to help ease the burden teachers often run into…coming out of their own pockets to cover their classroom expenses. “Treats for Teachers” recognizes some of the finest first year teachers throughout the greater Kansas City metro, who go the extra mile for their students.

Walmart store 573 on Sam Walton Ln. sent Bryan and Josiah to Underwood Elementary to surprise Madison Stites (left) a first year kindergarten teacher.

First-year teacher Tammy Binder (right) of Pleasant Lea Middle School was pleasantly surprised thanks to Dr. David Sharp for helping coordinate the event and thanks to Walmart Lee’s Summit Store Manager Denise Levesque for taking time during her day off to lead the special visit and present the $500 treat to Ms. Binder. #BetterTogether #SparkKindess #TeachersRule #KCStrong Brands That Speak
