| Critical Issue Alert Commissioner Margie Vandeven announced this afternoon that Missouri has canceled statewide testing (the MAP test, end-of-course examinations, etc.) for the remainder of this school year due to school closures caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Also, schools will not be required to make up calendar hours lost due to the COVID-19 and missed calendar hours will not impact the calculation of average daily attendance, which is used to calculate state aid payments. MSBA supports this flexibility given the unusual circumstances caused by the pandemic and thanks the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education for pursuing any available relief for school districts and students. |
