I am a retired 30 year resident of Lee’s Summit and have a great desire to contribute my time, effort and experience realized over a considerable number of years to assist the City of Lee’s Summit to remain on a continues path of sustainable growth, improvement and progress for many years into the future. I am not a politician but simply a high experienced, dependable, and capable individual motivated to bring common sense and sound judgement and demonstrated ability to do the right thing over an entire work history and beyond. I have served as a Board of Directors Member and Officer on eight business, Chambers of Commerce, Hospital, Homeowners Assn., Civic, and Service Clubs Boards of Directors in the past.

I have enjoyed my years in Lee’s Summit and my involvement in community affairs, recreational opportunities and interaction with the city and city officials at public hears, forums, city council meetings, and as a participant in the community Block Grant Program on two occasions. I am also a graduate of the Lee’s Summit Citizens Leadership Academy, the Police Academy, and a member of the Lee’s Summit Historical Society.

My personal attitude and feeling is that all decisions made by the city council should be made always putting the people first. My motto will be if elected that any proposal made to the city council that benefits the citizens and the city, that does no harm and is financially viable will have my backing.

I live a rather conservative life style and stay well within my means financially but am a strong advocate of city and community economic growth, improved job opportunities, strong schools, and infrastructure, tax restraint, quality city services, citizens safety and maintenance of a well paid city, efficient work force.

I am nonpartisan and vote for the best ideas and most qualified candidates. I am unbiased, non-discriminating and have a large multicultural family. My three children are grown and have their own families.

Education – William Jewell College – BA degree in Business Administration. Graduate Degree – American Savings and Loan Institute. Rockhurst College – Diplomas in real estate appraising and supervisory skills.

Work History – 30-year career in banking, savings, and loan operations – served 25 years in management positions – the last 20 years before retirement I served in Sr. Management positions including CEO. My experience involved all aspects of banking from ground level up through the ranks. Besides total company operations, I was primarily involved with finance, real estate and housing, construction loans and site inspections, appraisals, land and subdivision development, auditing, budgeting, personnel management, insurance, customer service, and much more.

I have a list of at least eight key initiatives that are important and need to be addressed fully for the future benefit of the city and citizens.

I would appreciate your vote on June 2nd.
