After being closed for two months, Raytown Municipal Court will resume hearing cases on Monday, June 1, 2020. Raytown Municipal Court will be following the guidelines set out in the Missouri Supreme Court’s Operating Directives issued on May 04, 2020. Those guidelines shall be observed by all and include the following court proceedings:

  1. Limiting 10 people in the courtroom at one time including court personnel;
  2. Observing social distancing requirements of 6 feet at all times in the courtroom, hallways and all areas of Raytown Municipal Court and Raytown City Hall;
  3. Having one-way traffic configuration to avoid people from crossing over each other in order to keep with 6 feet social distancing protocols;
  4. Entering Raytown City Hall and Municipal Court through only one door and exiting through another door;
  5. Requiring face masks to be worn by everyone entering the Raytown City Hall for Municipal Court. Face masks must be worn at all times in the Raytown City Hall and Raytown Municipal Court including all public areas such as hallways and restrooms;
  6. Checking temperature on everyone prior to entering Municipal Court. Anyone with a temperature above 98.6 will not be admitted to court; and
  7. Asking questions of everyone entering regarding if a person has been exposed to COVID19. If a person has been exposed, they will not be allowed entry into the building for court.

Attorneys should appear at 4:00 p.m. for 6:00 p.m. dockets to meet with the prosecutor as attorney plea dockets will begin at 5:00 p.m. Attorneys are also encouraged to contact the prosecutor and work out plea agreements prior to their client’s assigned court date. Raytown Municipal Court will accept attorney plea agreements with affidavits from their clients.
