This summer, the Lee’s Summit R-7 District Board of Education approved the employment of three administrators.

The Board met July 16 and approved the employment of Steve Williams as Chief Financial Officer, effective Aug. 3.

Williams brings 30 years of school district business insight to LSR7. Williams’ experience includes serving as director of business & finance/CFO/treasurer for Maize USD 266 in Kansas, director of business for the South Central Kansas Education Service Center and business manager for Renwick USD 267.

Williams earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Fort Hays State University.

The Board met June 18 and approved the employment of Kyle Pace as Director of Instructional Technology, and Dr. Tressa Wright as Director of Assessment.

Pace, previously the director of technology for Grain Valley Schools, has worked in education for 20 years, with 16 years in education technology. He previously worked in LSR7 from 2004 to 2016 as an instructional technology specialist.

Pace taught third grade in Raytown Quality Schools and then taught fourth grade in Kansas City Public Schools. Mr. Pace earned his bachelor’s degrees in Elementary Education and Liberal Arts from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and his master’s degree in Educational Technology from Lesley University.

He received recognition from Education Week as a 2013 Leader to Learn From.

Tressa Wright

Dr. Wright, previously the principal at Plaza Middle School in the Park Hill School District, has worked in education for 26 years. She had previously worked in LSR7 from 1999 to 2018 at Bernard Campbell Middle School in roles including eighth grade teacher, at-risk instructor, math LABS instructor and assistant principal.

Dr. Wright taught junior high in the Mountain View-Birch Tree School District and then taught seventh grade in Raytown Quality Schools. Dr. Wright earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Missouri State University, her master’s degree in Teaching from Webster University and her doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from Baker University.

She received the 2017-2018 Dr. Dan Kahler Assistant Principal of the Year Award from the Greater Kansas City Missouri Principals Association.
