Dr. Emily Miller, Assistant Superintendent of Operational Services in the Lee’s Summit R-7 School District, received the Innovation in Education award from the Lee’s Summit Economic Development Council.

The recognition honors Dr. Miller for her leadership as Interim Superintendent, including developing the Comprehensive Facilities Master Plan, securing the $224 million no tax rate increase bond issue, successfully applying for the Kauffman Foundation Real World Learning Initiative and leading LSR7 during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mr. Kyle Pace, instructional technology director for the Lee’s Summit R-7 School District, received recognition as a national leader in K-12 IT.

EdTech: Focus on K-12 highlighted Mr. Pace as one of 30 K-12 Influencers Worth a Follow. These top IT professionals are credited with helping students, staff and families work through the educational challenges associated with COVID-19.
