After all of week seven games in high school football were played, the Kansas City Chiefs announced the Missouri Coach of the Week honor to Lee’s Summit North head coach Jamar Mozee. The Broncos were coming off a win over rival and previously undefeated Lee’s Summit West. The Broncos are now 9-0 after recording the first undefeated regular season in school history.

Every coach of the week honoree is qualified for the Eric Driskell Coach of the Year Award which will be announced later this fall. Each awarded school receives a $500 grant from the Hunt Family Foundation. The coaches are presented with a pair of sunglasses, a congratulatory commemorative Super Bowl 57 coin and a certificate recognizing their selection. Coach Mozee gives credit to the work put in by his coaches and players. “It’s always an honor to be recognized by the Chiefs and their great organization,” Mozee said. Mozee adds “Everyone did an outstanding job.”

The 9-0 Lee’s Summit North Broncos have won the Big Six Silver Conference title and now await post-season play which begins for them on Friday, Nov. 3. The Broncos, by virtue of being the top seeded team in Class 6, District 6, have a bye week to enjoy some well-earned rest and recovery time. When the Broncos return to the field it will be at Broncos Stadium and against the Lee’s Summit/Ray-Pec winner. The Broncos defeated both of the teams earlier this season. Being the number one seed, LS North will remain at home throughout the duration of the district playoffs.
