The Jackson County Collection Department is pleased to announce the addition of Interactive Voice Response (IVR) to its online payment platform, myJacksonCounty. IVR offers expanded accessibility and convenience to Jackson County residents by allowing them to make payments on their real estate or personal property tax bills over the phone, using an automated system. The service is available in both English and Spanish.

“Our residents have varying needs and preferences when making payments and IVR is the latest addition to the options we offer,” said Anthony Mitts, Jackson County Collection Department Acting Director. “By accepting payments by phone, we are confident our residents will save time and money by avoiding a trip to our office. Ensuring services are available in both English and Spanish aligns with our ongoing dedication to delivering accessible and equitable assistance to all customers.”

To pay by phone, residents can call (816) 608-7332. They will be greeted with a series of prompts to respond to via the telephone keypad and will need to have their property account number to use the system. Residents can pay using credit and debit cards and will receive a confirmation number upon successful completion. A $2.00 transaction fee and a 2.75% processing fee will be added to the total amount paid. Jackson County does not receive either of these fees.

Other Payment Options
Additionally, Jackson County residents can pay their tax bill with a credit card, debit card or check via website at payments.jacksongov.org or mobile app. Payments are also accepted by mail or in-person.

Exterior drop boxes for property tax payments are located at the west door of the Jackson County Courthouse in Kansas City (415 E. 12th St.) and at the south door of the Historic Truman Courthouse in Independence (112 W. Lexington). Please do not place cash in either drop box.

Tax payments must be received or USPS postmarked by December 31 to avoid penalty. For more information, visit the Jackson County Collection Department by clicking on the Services tab at jacksongov.org.
