The Kansas City Chiefs began the 2023 season looking to make history as back to back Super Bowl Champions something that hadn’t been done in 20 years. The Chiefs were successful in their efforts to add their name to the short list of teams who has won Super Bowls in consecutive seasons. Now the Chiefs kickoff the 2024 season looking to make NFL history again this time something that has never been done before. A three peat as in winning three straight Super Bowls is the team’s goal.

To get all the way to New Orleans, the site of Super Bowl 59, the Chiefs will play a regular season schedule that will see them play on every day of the week except for Tuesday. The Chiefs will see action for the second year in a row on Christmas day in addition to the first ever Black Friday game in NFL history. A normal Sunday night game finds the Chiefs involved twice as well as two appearances on Monday Night Football. A Saturday noon kickoff in Texas arrives near the end of the season and the entire NFL season begins on a Thursday night in Kansas City on September 5th.

The path back to the Big Game in the Big Easy begins with the Chiefs playing Baltimore and Cincinnati two teams heavily in the mix as an AFC Championship team. Pending a big NFL surprise the Chiefs do catch a break by playing the NFC south teams this year which includes Carolina, Atlanta, New Orleans and Tampa Bay.

Thanks to being a division champion, the Chiefs’ first place schedule also finds them playing at San Francisco in a Super Bowl 58 rematch. The Chiefs will find their way back to Buffalo in November but this will be just an AFC showdown. Chiefs fans can expect to see the normal home and away schedule with their fellow AFC West rivals Denver, Los Angeles and Las Vegas. The Chiefs will be seeking a record breaking ninth straight division title.

The Chiefs bye week hits in week six which means after that the team will have to play 11 straight weeks without a break. Without a bye week in the playoffs the Chiefs could face even more than that. Based on the Chiefs’ history of having a strong September, I see the Chiefs opening the season at 5-0 on their way to a 13-4 finish. Regardless of the end result one can be sure the Chiefs will provide another very entertaining season for their fans to watch on every night of the week except for Tuesday. That’s What I REID Into it for the 2024 season.
