On April 3, 2018, a municipal election will be held for Mayor at-large, one councilmember in each of the four Lee’s Summit City Council Districts and for Municipal Judge Division 263, each for a four-year term. There will be one additional seat in District 4 for a 2 year term. Interested candidates may file an application in person from December 12, 2017 at 8 a.m. to January 16, 2018 at 5 p.m. with the City Clerk at Lee’s Summit City Hall, 220 S.E. Green Street.

Filing hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., closed from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. daily for lunch, and closed 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on December 14. The office will observe the normal holiday schedule.

Qualifications for candidates filing for office in Lee’s Summit are included in the City Charter, Article III. During the filing process candidates must affirm that they meet all charter requirements, including council district residency.
