Lee’s Summit Parks and Recreation announces the hiring of Jackie McCormick Heanue as the Superintendent of Legal Services and Human Resources. McCormick Heanue will be the first to serve in this role, as the position is newly created and will provide oversight for LSPR’s legal services and human resources.
“I am particularly excited about the opportunity to work with the existing talented and committed staff at LSPR,” McCormick Heanue said. “It is my hope to contribute to the already successful team in the areas of human resources and the varied subject matters that parks and recreation can be engaged in from a legal standpoint, from employment law to real estate to project planning and execution to contract negotiation and compliance.”
Currently, McCormick Heanue is the Interim Director of Human Resources. Prior to this position, she served in the office of the City of Attorney for nearly six years. McCormick Heanue also worked for LSPR from 2004-2006 as a Service Representative in Parks Administration while simultaneously obtaining her master’s degree.
“As the Deputy City Attorney, Jackie was the person responsible for providing legal support and services to LSPR. She has worked with us in that role for the past several years and brings a tremendous understanding of our needs to the position,” Joe Snook, LSPR Administrator, said. “In addition, Jackie is currently serving as the Interim Director of Human Resources and will bring that experience and knowledge to LSPR. She will be a tremendous asset to LSPR as we grow and expand services to our community.”
McCormick Heanue will officially begin her Superintendent’s position June 11. “I am continually impressed with the culture and leadership of LSPR, and am excited to be a part of not only the existing programs and initiatives, but the many new exciting opportunities ahead,” she said.
