The Airport Open House offered a variety of activities for families and aviation enthusiasts, including aviation-related booths, static aircraft displays, food vendors, helicopter rides (for a fee), and much more. Children’s activities included free face painting and a bounce house. And as always, visitors could simply sit back and enjoy watching various aircraft take off and land at the airport which now features a brand new 5,501-foot runway.

The event was held at a new location this year on the airport’s east apron at the intersection of Hagen and Leinweber roads.

The Lee’s Summit Municipal Airport is an important gateway connecting businesses and travelers across the country to Lee’s Summit and surrounding communities.
