At the Lee’s Summit Planning Commission Meeting on July 10, 2018, Engineering Solutions, LLC presented a Preliminary Development Plan (#PL2018-087) in hopes to build a pool and clubhouse in The Reserve at Stoney Creek subdivision. The subdivision, located at 1401 SW Stoney Brook Circle, has an existing 2.62 acre tract meant for use as a common area for residents. This is where Engineering Solutions, LLC will build the new addition.

The area will include a swimming pool and a 2,300 square foot clubhouse. Residents will have access to the site via SW Stoney Creek Dr. The pool will be surrounded by an impact screen, which will be installed on the interior of the area.

Commissioner Colene Roberts inquired about the addition of any extra stormwater blocks or stream buffers, like impervious concrete, to the site. Matt Slish, a representative from Engineering Solutions, LLC, stated that there are no current plans to add any more storm blocks, because there is a culvert already on the property, and the company will not be draining water to the nearby stream, but rather to an on-site drainage facility. Roberts argued that statement, and requested more protection be built.

Commissioner Donnie Funk motioned to recommend the approval of the Preliminary Development Plan. The motion was seconded and recommended for approval.
