Emergency Medical Services

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: The City of Raytown Board of Aldermen and Raytown Fire Protection District Board of Directors are in negotiations to transfer Emergency Medical Services from the City of Raytown to the Raytown Fire Protection District.

The Raytown Fire Protection District has been providing advanced life support service care for the past 16 years, and this agreement will offer them the flexibility necessary to meet the demands of the future, ensuring the citizens of Raytown, Missouri, continue receiving the highest quality Emergency Medical Services.

The planned agreement will create an opportunity for increased services and decrease response times through the availability of additional ambulances, personnel and multiple deployment locations. Citizens will have the ability to receive physician monitored resource triage during 911 calls.

Additionally, the Fire District has agreed to exclude the ambulance service from the Fire District’s Automatic Aid agreement with the Kansas City Fire Department (KCFD).

If an agreement is approved by both governing boards, the Raytown Fire Protection District will begin providing Emergency Medical Services to the citizens of Raytown on November 17, 2018.
