Lee’s Summit City Hall is accepting Jackson County property, business and real estate tax bill payments. As an added convenience, taxpayers can choose to pay tax bills using a credit card for the first time this year.

Payments can be made at Treasury, located in the lobby of City Hall, 220 SE Green St. Treasury is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday with extended hours of 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 26 through Dec. 28 and Dec. 31.

Payments received at Treasury can be in the form of cash, check, Visa or Mastercard. A non-refundable 2.5 percent service fee is charged if using a credit or debit card. There is no fee for cash or check. Checks should be made payable to Jackson County Collector.

Taxpayers can also place bill payments in the City’s night drop box, located outside the north entrance to City Hall. It is available 24 hours. A check must be attached to the tax bill with a contact phone number. Tax receipts for payments received via the night drop box will be mailed to the taxpayer.

The City benefits by receiving one percent of the tax dollars collected for acting as an agent for Jackson County.

Treasury can also assist taxpayers with an incorrect tax statement. To avoid long lines and delays in processing, bring incorrect statements to Treasury for correction prior to the last week of December. Please note that titles, registrations or proof of sale documents are required for billing corrections.
