Friends paid a surprise, “socially distant,” birthday visit on Monday, Apr. 13 to 95-year-old Harry Doudna at Solstice Independent Living located in Lee’s Summit.

Doudna was born in Lee’s Summit on a farm, off 291 Hwy. and is a 1943 Lee’s Summit High graduate.

He has been a farmer, and also worked at a trucking company, loading trucks.

The group sang “Happy Birthday” from the ground below and provided the staff with enough birthday cake for each resident to have a piece.
