Lee’s Summit, MO – July 15, 2020 – At approximately 2:30 a.m. officers were dispatched to the 500 block of NE Richardson Place on the report that a vehicle had crashed into a residence. 

Officers arrived on scene and located a single vehicle that had crashed into a residence with two persons inside the vehicle. The driver and passenger were extricated from the car and both had serious, life threatening injuries. 

Once paramedics were able to examine the patients, it was determined that the passenger had sustained serious head injuries as a result of the crash; the driver had injuries consistent with the crash but was also suffering from a gunshot wound. 

The Criminal Investigations Unit was activated and Detectives are now working the on-going investigation.  Victim’s identities are not being released at this time; both victims are males.
