Lee’s Summit man charged with shooting on Interstate 470 at vehicles and drivers after apparent driving incident, possibly road rage, involving another driver, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.

Joseph W. Terry, dob: 3/27/1966, faces Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Assault 1st Degree and two counts of Armed Criminal Action.*

According to court records, Lee’s Summit police were dispatched to eastbound Interstate 470 on reported shots fired. A witness told officers that the defendant fired shots at another vehicle after an incident with a vehicle that another witness described as possible road rage. A victim was taken to the hospital for his injuries. 

Prosecutors requested a bond of $150,000 cash.
