How do you fuel your brain and body each day? Are you eating regular meals and snacks and drinking water to keep your energy up?
If you answer no to either of those questions, it might be time to check in with your inner wellness warrior. We all desire to feel good each day by having the time to sleep, plan and prepare meals and snacks, and get in some physical activity. Sometimes this happens and sometimes it doesn’t. If you find it not happening as much as you like, your Hy-Vee dietitians suggest starting with just one goal and making it happen every day. One easy place to start is choosing healthful snacks.
Instead of reaching for a soda, energy drink, candy or chips for that mid-morning or afternoon pick-me-up, try using snacks foods with less sugar, more energy-boosting fiber, protein and healthy fats. Our November Hy-Vee Dietitian Pick of the Month, Health Warrior Chia and Pumpkin Seed Bars, will get you going on your snack goals.
