Hope House, a domestic violence agency in eastern Jackson County, is partnering with craft fast-casual taco brand, Torchy’s Tacos, to raise critical funding and awareness during Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October.

Torchy’s is hosting a month long fundraiser every Monday in October at participating northeastern Kansas and Missouri locations in which 15 percent of net sales from that day’s dine-in and takeout orders* will be donated to Hope House. The fundraiser kicked off Monday, October 4 on National Taco Day, at Torchy’s Overland Park location (6815 West 135th Street). Following that Monday, the fundraiser will expand to include three additional locations for the remaining Mondays of October (10/11, 10/18 and 10/25) at Torchy’s Olathe, Lawrence and Kansas City locations.

“We’ve been proud to serve Kansas City and northeast Kansas since we opened our first restaurants here last year and are always looking for ways to give back to our local communities,” said Brad Hager, Market Partner at Torchy’s Tacos. “Make sure to stop by our Overland Park location on Monday, October 4 to benefit Hope House, and check out our other participating Kansas and Missouri locations on Mondays starting October 11 to join us in lending a hand to this important organization throughout the month!”

In addition, Hope House launched the “Hotline to Healing – Take a Walk in Their Shoes” Campaign on October 5. Viewers will witness impactful stories and awareness messaging through the lens of the victim, their children, families, law enforcement, hotline operators, therapists and direct service staff.

“Hope House is challenging the community to look past the stigma of intimate partner violence. Managing responses to a victim in crisis is extremely complex. Recognizing and responding to their needs is critical,” says MaryAnne Metheny, Hope House CEO. “From the moment a hotline call is placed, to a child in trauma, to a responding police officer, experience that journey from their vantage point. We are so grateful to Torchy’s Tacos for their partnership in assisting us with our October campaign and our mission to continue to care for those we serve.”
