On Monday, Aug. 8 fall sports teams took to the practice field or courts to get ready for a new season. The Lee’s Summit Tigers men’s soccer team is one of those teams who have held practices and this past week a jamboree to prepare for their season opener.

On Tuesday, Aug. 23 the Lee’s Summit Tigers soccer team played host to a three-team jamboree that included Truman and Van Horn. The second game of the event saw Van Horn defeat their rival Truman 2-0 and the final game of the day saw the host Tigers battle Van Horn to a 1 all tie. The Tigers lone goal came on a penalty kick.

The Tigers have one more week to prepare for a busy 2022 season. The Tigers, led by head coach Dave Wiebenga, open the season at home against Staley on Thursday, Sep. 1. Later in the year the Tigers will play host to rival Lee’s Summit West on Sep. 20 and travel to rival Lee’s Summit North on Oct. 11. The final Home game of the regular season is set for Oct. 27 when the Tigers host LS North starting at 6:30 p.m. The post-season will begin the next week with district tournament.
