Hope House will host their 33rd annual believe-illuminating hope gala on August 5, 2023 at the Loews Kansas City Hotel, with Presenting Sponsor, GEHA. This event will celebrate Hope House’s 40th anniversary of serving domestic violence survivors on their journey to healing and safety.

“40 years ago, we opened our doors with one goal in mind: to get survivors to safety. That goal still remains front of mind as we have expanded our services to meet the needs of our clients wherever they are in their journey,” says MaryAnne Metheny, Hope House CEO.

In 2022, Hope House assisted over 4,000 adults and children affected by domestic violence through a variety of programs including emergency shelter, therapy, court advocacy, hospital advocacy, a safe visitation center, children’s advocacy, transitional and permanent housing, and legal support. Each comprehensive program helps survivors and their families begin a life free from abuse.

“This event is an opportunity to come together and celebrate our accomplishments over the past 40 years. We are not only raising funds for critical programs, but also educating our community on the importance of our services. This year we’re excited to hear an empowering testimonial from a survivor who went through our shelter as a child and now works in our Clinical Department as a therapist,” says Metheny.

Funds raised at the evening’s event will go directly towards supporting survivors of domestic violence. For more information on the event visit hopehouse.net.
