BPM Dance Complex is a local Dance Studio in Lee’s Summit that is owned by former professional dancer and Lees Summit native Blake Piatczyc Marshall (featured on shows like NBC World of Dance, Americas Got Talent and more).

Season 6 brought on an unexpected but exciting announcement for the Company Dancers at BPM. The team would not only be competing at their typical regional and national competitions but would also be competing at The World Dance Championship in Secaucus, New Jersey.

This competition is different than other competitions because dances need to be invited by judges with a Golden Ticket. Golden Tickets are handed out to first place dances as well as certain dances judges view as unique and entertaining. This competition, which hosts teams from all over the world, is sponsored by The Star Dance Alliance.

All together the studio totaled 23 Golden Tickets throughout the 2023 competition season. There were 58 dancers that competed with ages ranging from 4-19 years old. BPM Dance Complex was fortunate enough to have several of the routines invited back to re-compete in the Final Five (the best of the best). Four of these dances scored first place overall making them World Champions.

One dance receiving first place was the Company’s Production of “Legally Blonde,” which was extra special because it ensured every dancer from BPM Dance Complex walked away as a World Champion.

It was an experience of a lifetime and so many memories were made by dancers, BPM staff and families. BPM was most recently name the number one business for education in performing arts in Lee’s Summit. BPM is a studio for all ages and levels looking for a dance home coupled with a family positive environment and grade A training.
