Barefoot Rick has teamed up with the Kansas City Rescue Mission to make his 100th marathon (26.2 miles or greater) count for the homeless of Greater KC! Together, they are counting on Kansas Citians to make a difference for those less fortunate as another winter approaches. Our goal is to raise $10,000 during the 100 day countdown from July 6 to October 15.

Roeber ran his first marathon with shoes in 1990 at the Prime Health KC Marathon. He would then run 17 more “shod” marathons before his first barefoot marathon in April 2004. On October 15, Barefoot Rick will run his 82nd consecutive barefoot marathon at the Waddell & Reed Kansas City Marathon totaling 100 marathons.

Rick’s marathon journey started in KC in 1990. Since then, he has ran barefoot marathons around the world.

How can Kansas Citians help celebrate this KC milestone?

Give $1 for every mile Barefoot Rick runs on October 15. $26 will help provide meals and warmth to the homeless of KC.
