John Raymond Maggard, Jr. (Raymond) passed away March 7, 2018 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.

Funeral services were held at Park Lawn Funeral Home in Kansas City, MO on Monday, March 12, 2018. Visitation was at 12:00 p.m. and the service at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Larry Thomas officiated.

Raymond was born June 28, 1955 in Kansas City, MO to John Raymond, Sr. and Juanita (Snitker) Maggard. He is survived by his mother, Juanita; his brother, David and LuAnne of Lee’s Summit; his beloved fiancé, Linda Stevens, who he adored. His five children John Raymond (Ray) Maggard, III; twin daughters Priscilla Maggard and Prisca Herbert, Cody and Tyler. Six grandchildren Rachael Johnson, Ashley Gunter, Valorie Heickley, William Herbert, John Raymond Maggard, IV (Johnny) and Sophie Smith. Four great-grandchildren Laila, Mark, Cayden, and Hannah Wren. He was preceded in death by his father, John Raymond Maggard, Sr. on June 27, 2017.

Raymond’s life-long career was in the trucking industry, first as a driver and then as a Fleet Manager. He had a cheery attitude and a ready smile. He enjoyed conversing with people and was always ready with a story, which delighted others. In everything he did, he gave it his best as unto the Lord. He was a caring, considerate, diplomatic and hard-working dedicated family man. He enjoyed the outdoors and nature, just an all-around wonderful man.
