Lee’s Summit Celebrates Special Needs Day March 31

Special Needs Day is an event planned for families of special needs and their children, including sensory-friendly activities for all kids and adults and information booths and tables.
The event will take place on March 31 from 11 am. to 2 pm. at Lee’s Summit Fire Station No. 1, 207 SE Douglas Street, and at VFW Jack Ray Post 5789 at 329 SE Douglas Street.

Handicapped-accessible restrooms are available at both sites.

Event Schedule
9:50 am: Mayor Randy Rhoads will read a proclamation that Special Needs Day is March 30 at City Hall Plaza, 220 SE Green Street
10 am–Noon: Downtown Lee’s Summit Main Street Downtown Bunny Hop, Bunny Ears And Easter Hat Contest starting at City Hall Plaza, 220 SE Green Street
10 am: Special Needs Day activities setup
11 am-2 pm: Special Needs Day activities at Lee’s Summit Firefighters Union Hall, 322 SE Douglas Street; and VFW Jack Ray Post 5789, 329 SE Douglas Street
