Harold L. Van Tuyl, of Lee’s Summit, MO, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2018 at the age of 91.

Harold was born to parents William D. Van Tuyl and Lucie Elizabeth (Marston) Van Tuyl on February 16, 1927 in Bates City, MO. Harold lived most of his childhood in Atherton, MO. He graduated from high school in Buckner, MO in 1944.

Harold enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served as a signalman from 1944 to 1946.

He married Florine Schenck November 28, 1947.

Son, Steve, was born November 25, 1948.

Harold graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Central Missouri State College at Warrensburg in 1949.

Harold taught high school mathematics and industrial arts in Drexel and Grandview, MO. He worked at Bendix-Allied Signal for 35 years, retiring as a systems analyst in 1988.

Harold and Florine lived in Raytown, MO for 38 years. After Harold’s retirement from Allied Signal, they lived in Belton, Blue Springs and Lee’s Summit, MO

Harold was preceded in death by his parents and seven brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife, Florine; his son, Steve and daughter-in-law Donna; his sister, Mona Jones and granddaughter, Stephanie. No service has been scheduled at this time.
