Reba A. Enke, 81, Greenwood, MO, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2018.

Reba was born March 25, 1937, in rural Paola, KS.  She attended a one-room school house for her primary school and graduated from Paola High School in 1955 and then graduated from Pittsburgh State Teachers College in 1958.  Reba married Bob Enke on August 10, 1958.

Reba was preceded in death by her parents Charlie and J. Mildred (Stephens) Johnson.

Survivors include husband Bob Enke; sister Cloeva (Paul) Idol and sister-in-law Judy Yarrow; children Debra Enke, Gary (Cherree) Enke, Brenda (Kent) Cline; grandchildren Leilani (Matt) Mairet, Brett (Krissy) Cline, Chad Cline, Austin (Kailey Couch) Enke; great-grandchildren Makayla (Michael) Cuevas-Sepulveda, Hunter, Zander and Levi Mairet, Logan Cline and soon to arrive Paxtin Enke; great-great-grandchildren Gabriel and Micah Cuevas-Sepulveda; many nephews, nieces, cousins and dear friends; beloved Heidi and many dogs and cats through the years.

Reba was a certified Elementary Education teacher, teaching kindergarten in Wichita, KS and enjoyed leading many activities for her children including Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, elementary school room mother, United Methodist Church Sunday School and 4-H clubs.  She was awarded a lifetime PTA membership for her many hours of service.  She also volunteered in the grandson’s elementary classes and parties.

She was actively involved in the Lee’s Summit Hospital Auxiliary craft group for many years and was awarded the Auxilian of the Year.  She and her family were members of the Lee’s Summit United Methodist Church before transferring their membership to the Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Lee’s Summit in 1980.  Her church activities included United Methodist Married group (M&Ms), bell choirs, women’s circle (UMW), Saturday night church group and weekly dinners.

Reba enjoyed monthly bridge and pinochle groups, women’s bridge groups and ‘little cards/dominoes’ with her cherished friends.  Other hobbies included cooking, sewing, flower gardening and attending the children and grandchildren’s sporting events and school activities.

A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church (350 SW 150 Hwy Lee’s Summit, MO  64082) with visitation at 1:00 pm and service at 2:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her name to Aldersgate United Methodist Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
