The 2018-19 season has gotten off to a promising start for a pair of Kansas City Mavericks rookies.

Both Jordan Ernst and Jordan Klimek scored their first career goals in a Mavs 7-2 win over the Indy Fuel on Saturday, Oct. 27. The Mavericks enter the weekend with an overall mark of 3-1-1.

For rookie defenseman Jordan Klimek his first four games of his pro career have been memorable.

Jordo as his new teammates call him has already found a job in the Mavs starting lineup. Klimek’s favorite sports team is actually several NH teams as he likes to watch play the guys he knew growing up.

Jordo’s hometown is Langley British Columbia where his dad, mom and older brothers are still rooting him on from home. Klimek’s favorite hockey memory so far happened just last year. The left hander played for Northern Michigan in the WCHA Championship game against Michigan Tech. Now as a Maverick Jordo plays on the same team as a couple of Michigan Tech players from that game.

Klimek first put on a pair of skates at age two when his “parents slapped them on me.” Jordo’s favorite website to visit daily is Netflix. If not in pro hockey today, he admits he would be golfing or snowboarding in his native state. Klimek’s favorite food is waffles and he even makes some of his very own.

Jordo’s favorite sports movie is “Miracle.” Following his playing days Klimek wishes to be remembered as a good teammate and in the community.

As mentioned earlier Jordo’s first career goal was scored against the Indy Fuel on Oct. 27th. In describing the goal Klimek says “Was a lucky bounce to me, I just threw it towards the net and it went in.” Afterwards his teammate Jared Van Wormer threw him the puck.

Check out Jordo and the rest of the Mavericks when they host the Allen Americans on Tues. Nov. 6.The fun begins inside the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena when the puck drops at 7:05 p.m.
