This year local Jack Stack BBQ management and staff helped families affected by domestic violence. The Lee’s Summit and Freight House Jack Stack BBQ locations selected Hope House to give the gift of Thanksgiving meals as well as collecting holiday gift items. Food donations were delivered on Wednesday, Nov. 21.

Jeffrey Rousselo, General Manager of Lee’s Summit Jack Stack BBQ reached out to Hope House to see how his staff could give back this holiday season. Their idea was to prepare completely cooked meals for three families. When the Freight House location heard what they were doing they decided to join in and do the same for five additional families. Rousselo and his staff also collected holiday gift items for Hope House’s holiday store – a free shopping experience for shelter and outreach clients, ensuring all children and mothers have gifts under the tree on Christmas morning.

“We are so grateful for the support of local companies such as Jack Stack BBQ and other groups that help make the holidays special for those we serve,” says Hope House CEO, MaryAnne Metheny. Jack Stack BBQ is one of many businesses, groups, and organizations that are giving back to Hope House this holiday season with the gift of meals, holiday gifts, or urgent needs items.
